Stony Mountain Stonewall Masonic Lodge #12 donates $1,830 for an isolation cart in Stonewall

Stony Mountain Stonewall Masonic Lodge #12 donates $1,830 for an isolation cart in Stonewall

The members of Stony Mountain Stonewall Lodge #12, a freemasonry lodge, have donated $1,830 to purchase an isolation cart for the Stonewall Hospital. The new isolation cart will store necessary protective personal equipment (PPE) for staff when caring for patients that require isolation. PPE provides a physical barrier between the source of infection and protects the user from exposure to germs which is extremely important in the current COVID-19 environment.

Tim Heisler, the master of the Stony Mountain Stonewall Lodge #12 says the lodge participated in different fundraisers and the members want to give back to the community.

“The members of Stony Mountain Stonewall Masonic Lodge were very happy to be able to provide the funding for the much-needed isolation cart. We are a small group of men who want to be able to improve the world around us and we feel that the Interlake Eastern Health Foundation is a wonderful way we can do that.”

Patrice Lee, Clinical Team Manager says health centre staff are deeply grateful for this much needed donation.

“Staff are very appreciative for this piece of equipment as it allows access to needed equipment at the point of care. Stonewall Hospital will now have two isolation carts when needed now and in the future.”

Interlake Eastern Health Foundation executive director Pamela McCallum, says the isolation cart was chosen off a list of high priority needs for the hospital.

“The foundation has a running list of highest priority items for all our facilities and programs so that when a group such as the Stony Mountain Stonewall Masonic Lodge #12 comes forward with a donation, we are able to get them a list of needs to choose from quickly and effectively. This isolation cart couldn’t have come at a better time since we are currently working through COVID-19.”
