Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) enhances Lac du Bonnet Health Centre with new equipment!

The Lac du Bonnet Health Centre recently received a $3,940 donation from CNL to purchase spirometry equipment for the Lac du Bonnet Health Centre. Spirometry is the most common type of pulmonary function for breathing test. This test measures how much air you can breathe in and out of your lungs, as well as how easily and fast you can the blow the air out of your lungs. The test can be used to diagnose asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other conditions that affect breathing.

Jamie McLean, IERHA chronic disease nurse stated “I am always excited when we can bring enhanced testing options closer to home. Having this equipment in our area benefits so many people involved. Thank-you CNL!”

Executive director of the Interlake Eastern Health Foundation, Pamela McCallum, acknowledges CNL and is grateful for their generosity to the Lac du Bonnet Health Centre.

“We are grateful to CNL for this wonderful donation towards spirometry equipment. This new equipment will help us fill a gap in testing and will allow for us to enhance patient testing in Lac du Bonnet and surrounding areas,” says McCallum.

For more information on IEHF and how it benefits the region’s patients and residents or to make a donation, please visit www.iehf.ca or contact Pamela McCallum directly at pmccallum@ierha.ca.
